3. How long is the competition?
One week starting Friday 27th March
4. What are idioms?
Idioms are idiomatic expressions which may mean something different from the meaning of their individual words
5. How can I find idioms?
By looking them up in dictionaries
By visiting sites and blogs
By googling for images
6. What are the objectives of this competition?
To enlarge vocabulary
To play with words and have fun
To learn cooperatively
7. How do I score?
You score when you:
Use idioms with your peers
E-mail idioms to other participants
Help workmates to understand idioms
Look up idioms, definitions & examples to share
Upload information to the teacher’s blog
Fill in the Idioms Competition Chart
Illustrate the use of idioms
8. How does the score system work?
E-mailed Idioms, definitions, examples: 1 score each
Examples e-mailed by other participants: 1 score each
Updating the Idioms Competition Chart: 3 scores per idiom
Uploading idioms, definitions, examples: 2 scores each
E-mailed Illustrations: 5 scores each
9. Will I get a prize?
The participant with the highest score will get a prize
