Identity

If somebody asked you who you are, how would you define yourself?

Do you identify most strongly with your job, your hometown, your family?
Do you use your real name when you chat on the Internet?

Do you have several digital identities?

How similar or different are your imaginary identities to your real self?

Dick Hardt seems to know much about identity. I've enjoyed his conference, I've learnt a couple of things about the topic, and I love the way he gave his speech.

Do enjoy it and send your comments by answering just a few of the questions above.

Comments will be moderated for appropriacy, if necessary.

I only listened to the video once, and I think I got it quite well.
Regarding the questions above,I may say:
If somebody asked me who am I, I´d say my name. Then probably, I´ll say something about where I live or where I was born. I could also include some comments about my carrer and where i studied.
I think that my family is the most influent aspect of my identity. I took my customs and habits from them. The rest of the things can also affect my personality and identity but I won`t define them as "strong".
I use my real name for chatting on the internet, and also for my e-mails accounts. Althoug this could be a little insecure, makes my task easier...I have several digital identities. One of the prof are my e-mail accounts, just for the english class I had to create two more jajajjaj.
I don´t have imaginary identities, at least I don´t have it now. Perhaps when I used to be a kid I did have, but at this time I don´t.

Well Ana, it took me some weeks, but after some fights (not quarrels) with my brother I finally could make a comment.

See you!!!!

Bye

I uderstood the conference very well, but I have to reconize that the last part was a little bit difficult, because of the specific vocabulary that the presenter use.
I would difine myself as Dick did. I would say my name, where I live, where did I studied, what kind of thigs I like to do, what kind of job I have, etc.
I'm more identified with my family, bacause it defines how I am today. They showed me what is important in live ande how I have to choose to built my own way. They educated me to be honest, asimple, strong and friendly and this is haw I'm. This are the characteristics that would discribe my identity. Everything that I have learned from them, describes how I'm. Talking about internet, I have to say that I always yse my real name. I don't like to create something that it is not true. I know that there is a risk on using my own name, beacuse people can try to get more information about you. But as Dichk said about the internet, nobody can prove who I'm beacuse they can't see or hear me. In addition I don't give so much information about me on the internet, because I dont't feel that it is a secure source. I don't have several identities. I have maybe four, but thy are all the same. The only difference is that my name is written in different ways, sometimes shorter, sometimes longerm but my identity is always the same.
I don't have imaginary identities, but it would be funy to see how poeple would react to this identities. What would they think about that.

Ana I would like to appologize, because of the delay, but I'm very busy at this moment.

Bye and see you on monday.
